This interactive workshop is designed for scholars, leaders, and advocates working at the intersection of religious freedom, pluralism, and human dignity. Grounded in the principles of covenantal pluralism, the session explores how deeply held theological convictions and the lived experiences of LGBT individuals can coexist in ways that honor both conscience and community.
Participants will engage case studies, narrative reflections, and values-based frameworks that foster mutual understanding across difference. Emphasis is placed on equipping participants with practical tools for navigating contested spaces, building coalitions, and advancing religious freedom for all—including those with whom they may deeply disagree.

In an era of rising polarization, this interactive workshop equips participants to promote freedom of religion or belief (FoRB) in ways that are principled, pluralistic, and deeply personal. Drawing on the framework of covenantal pluralism, we explore how individuals and institutions can remain firmly rooted in their own beliefs while building bridges across profound differences.
Participants will practice values-based problem solving as they examine real-world case studies involving contested issues—such as gender, sexuality, and religious identity—where FoRB is at stake. Emphasis is placed on cultivating the moral courage to advocate for the rights of others, even when doing so requires navigating theological or ideological tension.
The workshop provides tools to foster meaningful dialogue, build unlikely alliances, and strengthen FoRB as a shared value—not just a legal right. Designed for professionals, scholars, and institutional leaders, the session is adaptable to in-person or virtual settings and tailored to the unique needs of each audience.
